Also inhabiting the area of Lake Norman is the town of Huntersville. Located just 10 miles from Charlotte, many people are drawn to the quiet, friendly neighborhood atmosphere of a town that sits on the outskirts of a bustling major city. In 1990, about 3,000 people lived here. Today, over 40,000 call this town their home. If the ideal location and beauty of Huntersville was once a secret, it isnÿt anymore.

Luckily, builders have adapted to the immense growth, and reated a diverse array of homes to fit anyone, from a single person to the large family. Many of the homes are built in neighborhood settings and are surrounded by walking trails  and bike paths, an enjoyable change of pace for those who work in Charlotte.
While access to Lake Norman is readily available, Huntersville is also home to some of the best shopping around. The most recognizable is Birkdale Village, a 52-acre complex that offers shopping, food, and entertainment in a residential setting. The area is built to resemble a picturesque New England town, and is complete with lush gardens and antique street lamps for a unique experience.

For those looking to unwind, Huntersville is also home to the Latta Plantation Nature Reserve, where visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, from kayaking to picnics in its 1300 acre natural environment. If the big city is what you crave, Charlotte is only a short drive away, and is home to two professional sports teams and limitless things to see and do. Rarely is a city located so closely to a major metropolis and still able to maintain its small-town atmosphere. With its friendly people and family environment, Huntersville is not only the exception; itÿs also an exceptional place to live.
